Jewellery Care

  Jewellery Care

Jewellery are small pieces of art, specially created to highlight your image and personality.

All they ask of you is attention and care.

Careful use, frequent cleaning and proper storage are the main "tools" of keeping your jewellery in excellent condition for a long time.

We do not wear our jewellery when:

We are getting ready to apply perfume, lotions, hair styling products, or cosmetic protection creams. We wear the jewellery after completing the treatment, and give a reasonable time to dry, not to affect the metal or stones.

We do physical work or exercise. The acidic pH of sweat is an oxidizing factor for jewellery. When we do heavy physical work, or we are in the gym, we avoid wearing jewellery, they will oxidize and will fade quickly.

We deal with our garden or pots. Gardening is a beautiful and creative hobby, but soil and chemicals can destroy jewellery stones and metal plating.

We are at sea. Sea salt beneficial to you, can destroy a beloved piece of jewellery, a gold-plated ring, a leather bracelet, or the stones of your earrings. Leave your jewellery at home and enjoy the summer sun and the sea.

We are sunbathing. In general, exposure to the strong sun can discolor our sensitive stones and "tire" the jewellery irreparably.

We go to the swimming pool. Chlorion in pool water will tarnish your jewellery and leave marks on a leather bracelet.

We take a shower, or bathe at home. Shampoo, soap contains chemicals that can damage the shine of a pearl, leave residues on the stones, or spoil the shape of your leather accessory.

We clean the house. Household detergents contain strong chemicals that corrode and discolor metals, destroy stones and all organic materials, such as pearls or leather jewellery.

We sleep. During sleep we can hit our jewellery, cut a delicate chain, or break a beloved necklace with stones.

Jewellery Care

Gentle cleaning of the jewellery with a dry cloth, after use, retains the original shine and protects the jewellery. If the jewellery looks "tired", rub it gently with a soft toothbrush in lukewarm water with a mild dish detergent without strong chemicals, lemon or vinegar. Continue carefully with the stones and rinse with plenty of cold water. Dry it well with a soft cloth or hair dryer and the jewellery is "fresh" like the first day you held it in your hands.

Sometimes we want to metal plate our stone jewellery to freshen them, or we just want to change the color. The first thing we need to ask the technician who will plate our jewellery, is whether the chemicals and the temperatures of the plating affect the color or the shine of our stone. Chains or jewellery with a chain, you must always have them fastened so that they do not get tangled.
