Labradorite

  Labradorite

The stone of the Wizards of the icy North. The stone of lost Atlantis. The unique green gold and blue iridescences in the deep metallic blue of the labradorite fed the countless myths and beliefs of the ancient peoples. For the Eskimos, the icy winter wind scattered in the sky the pieces of the Great Labradorite that prevented the passage to the fishing grounds. Thus, was created the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). The Norwegians believed that the Labradorites were pieces of the Northern Lights that froze and fell to the ground.

Blue labradorite is a translucent tectosilicate mineral of the alkaline star group. The rainbow moonstone, the Spectro lite of Madagascar, are labradorites with different admixtures, but with the characteristic iridescence a unique phenomenon known as Labradorescence.

It takes its name from the province of Labrador in Canada. Today Norway, Madagascar are the main exporters of labradorite, which in addition to jewellery, is used to make decorative and expensive floors.

Magic stone of the night, in crystal therapy, is considered the luminous night crystal of angels. Provides protection and raises empathy in the holder. Facilitates the transition to places impassable by logic, illuminates the dark spots of the mind and acts as a protector against negative energy.

The white labradorite rainbow moonstone is the guardian stone of June, a special amulet for Gemini.
